Recently, according to the evaluation committee of green small hydropower station of the Ministry of Water Resources, Cuijiang Hydropower Station in Suxian District was awarded the title of national green small hydropower station in 2019. There are 173 green small hydropower stations in China, which is one of the eight small hydropower stations awarded this award in the whole province.

It was reported that Cuijiang Hydropower Station is located in the Leishui tributary of the upper reaches of Xiangjiang River, which is a daily regulating river bed runoff power station. It was started in 1986 and built in accordance with the regulations. In March 1993, it was fully connected to the grid for power generation. In August 2014, the power station was upgraded for efficiency and capacity expansion. In December 2018, it passed the completion acceptance. The total installed capacity is 30MW, the total reservoir capacity is 156 million m3, and the annual average power generation capacity is 115 million kw · h.

In recent years, in order to create green small hydropower, Suxian District Water Conservancy Bureau has continuously strengthened daily monitoring and industry safety supervision, installed flow meters and recorded and summarized monitoring data, strictly guaranteed the daily ecological flow, improved the ecological environment of the basin, provided more water for the growth of vegetation in the reservoir area, effectively prevented soil erosion, established a long-term mechanism of safety management, carried out standardized management of safety production, and improved the performance and automation of equipment, so as to realize the safe operation management mode of few people on duty, and strive to practice the development concept that "Lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets".
